About The Position

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a results-driven Advanced Inverter Electrical Engineer to join a team developing next-generation traction inverters. The engineer will be responsible for associated circuit design, implementation, and system-level testing. The position is based in Kokomo, Indiana (preferred), or Auburn Hills, Michigan, in a hybrid work environment. Travel of 10% domestically and internationally is required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
At least 3 years of experience in electronic design required.
Experience designing power electronics, analog circuits, and microprocessor-based systems.
Skill in circuit simulation and analysis.
Experience troubleshooting hardware and using laboratory equipment, such as oscilloscopes.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in electronic design preferred.
Experience with high-voltage testing preferred.
Experience with circuit design and layout techniques for EMC desirable.

Responsibilities

Concept, design, and execute traction inverter designs.
Perform simulation and analysis using CAD and CAE tools.
Select or specify components to meet design requirements.
Articulate electrical implications while supporting mechanical packaging and system design.
Check out and debug new hardware and perform design confirmation testing in a laboratory environment.
Guide ECAD and MCAD to deliver optimal circuit performance and flawless designs.
