About The Position

Jefferson Health is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our nationally recognized cardiovascular team. This physician will play a key role in the evaluation, treatment, and long-term management of patients with advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, mechanical circulatory support devices, and cardiac transplantation. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, advancing clinical research, and educating the next generation of cardiovascular specialists. This position offers the opportunity to practice within a large, integrated academic health system that is committed to innovation, quality, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure and complex cardiovascular disease.
  • Evaluate and manage patients being considered for advanced therapies, including heart transplantation and durable mechanical circulatory support (LVAD).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary heart failure, transplant, and mechanical circulatory support programs.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac imaging, palliative care, and critical care teams.
  • Participate in inpatient consultative services and call coverage as part of the Advanced Heart Failure team.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical program development, and strategic growth of heart failure services.
  • Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows.
  • Participate in clinical research, investigator-initiated studies, and scholarly activities consistent with academic interests.
  • Support community outreach and regional referral relationships to expand access to advanced heart failure care.
