About The Position

As an Advanced AI Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will provide expert technical leadership in designing and developing AI algorithms, models, and systems. You will serve as a subject matter expert for technical AI projects, guiding the exploration and implementation of methodologies and best practices. The role contributes to critical AI initiatives and technical excellence across the organization. The position is based in Phoenix, Arizona, with a hybrid work schedule. Relocation is not offered.

You will work with AI engineers, product managers, and aerospace experts to understand requirements and build AI applications that meet business needs. You will research state-of-the-art AI models and infrastructure tools for on-premises deployment, keep current with industry developments, and develop Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions for internal applications.

Candidates must meet U.S. person/export authorization requirements: be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience managing AI-related technology projects.
• Mastery-level expertise in machine learning or a related artificial intelligence technology.
• Meet U.S. person or export authorization requirements: be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with database operations, including data storage, retrieval, and management.
• Knowledge of embeddings and indexing techniques and their applications in AI and machine learning.
• Experience with on-premises AI.
• Familiarity with API calling and integration, including designing and implementing APIs for AI applications.
• Understanding of UI/UX principles and applying them to intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for AI-powered systems.
• Experience collecting KPIs and creating dashboards, including designing performance metrics and visualizations.
