About The Position

The Advanced Field Service Engineer is responsible for driving significant impact by ensuring the continuous, high-performance operation of Beckman Coulter equipment for our customers, directly contributing to patient care and laboratory efficiency. By mastering complex technical challenges, optimizing service delivery, and fostering strong client relationships while developing team talent, this position is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction, driving business growth, and upholding our reputation as a leader in diagnostics. This position reports to the Los Angeles Service Manager and is part of the West Area Service Engineering Team located in Brea, CA and will be working remotely to cover the Los Angeles to Inland Empire Territory. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead Comprehensive Technical Service & Optimize Operations: Independently manage troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of Beckman Coulter equipment, providing excellent and efficient service. Utilize business systems like OBI, Salesforce, and SharePoint to maintain accurate records, track repair parts, adhere to cycle times, and advance team goals Cultivate Stakeholder Relationships & Develop Talent: Engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to understand and meet their requirements. Play a key role in training and mentoring newer Field Service Engineers, fostering their technical growth and service excellence Ensure Premium Quality & Efficient Delivery: Consistently deliver high-quality, efficient service by meticulously maintaining accurate customer service logs and internal records. Proactively work to meet customer expectations and contribute to overall customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation OR Associate degree or equivalent military experience
  • Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements : This position requires up to 20% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.

  • Developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, leading to increased customer satisfaction, and supporting long-term retention
  • A technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related
