About The Position

Sundt is seeking committed engineering and construction management students enrolled at accredited universities or colleges. This internship offers hands-on experience in the construction industry, particularly during the preconstruction phase. The intern works closely with Preconstruction and Operations teams to support planning and execution of construction projects, including estimating and bid preparation. The role may include other duties as assigned, and the job description may change at any time.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Frequent use of hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects; occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
• May need to stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally, and sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire workday.
• Frequent interaction with people and technology and frequent use of a telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.

Responsibilities

• Aid in preparing proposals and presentations for potential clients.
• Help analyze subcontractor bids and vendor proposals to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Help prepare and assemble bid packages, ensuring required documents, specifications, and requirements are included and accurately presented.
• Attend and contribute to preconstruction meetings, take notes, and assist with follow-up tasks.
• Organize and maintain project documents, including plans, specifications, and addendums.
• Participate in site visits as needed to understand project conditions and requirements.
• Support the estimating team with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Use modeling software such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar to develop quantities and support estimating.
• Work with operational leads, estimators, and other team members to complete preconstruction activities accurately and on time.
