About The Position

Are you an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician looking to increase your healthcare knowledge by working in a fast pace Emergency Room? If so, you are who we are looking for. Come join our TEAM here at MUSC Lancaster Medical Center. The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician performs duties of the Emergency Department Technician and other routine duties within the limit of their training and certification in caring for the Emergency Department patients. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Additional responsibilities may be required.

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED required
• South Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with EKG, Phlebotomy, and Cardiac Monitoring preferred.
• Advance Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) preferred.
• Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) with American Heart Association (AHA), and NIHSS stroke scale with American Heart Association (AHA) if unit required

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of the Emergency Department Technician and other routine duties within the limit of their training and certification in caring for the Emergency Department patients.
• Renders care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Additional responsibilities may be required.
