The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) responds to requests within an assigned work area and provides Basic Life Support-level patient care. The role includes following Pennsylvania motor vehicle laws and using seatbelts whenever the vehicle is in motion. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment, with responsibility for meeting job-specific obligations and complying with organizational policies and procedures. The AEMT helps maintain response readiness by surveying the vehicle and equipment at the start of an assigned shift and after each patient transport, and by participating in vehicle cleaning as needed. The role may also support orientation and preceptorship for new personnel, Emergency Medical Residents, students from affiliate agency programs, and volunteers. AEMTs participate in patient-safety improvement and management activities, identify processes or systems that could lead to errors or adverse events, complete required safety education, and promptly report serious events and incidents according to established policy. Additional competencies and skills identified during department-specific orientation are considered essential to the position. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, a $2-per-hour transport premium for day shifts, and a $2-per-hour shift differential for night shifts. Full-time and part-time positions are offered healthcare benefits beginning on day one.
