About The Position

As an Advanced Electro-Optic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, building, and testing systems and products that utilize optic, photonic, and laser technologies. This role involves close collaboration with device, hardware, and software design teams to contribute to the overall development of optical systems. Key tasks include specifying, selecting, and qualifying active and passive optical components, developing and benchmarking system performance models, creating and implementing test procedures, and evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
  • 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire
  • Meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Proven track record of electrical and optical design experience
  • Solid experience in the use of optical and electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunication applications and electrical engineering design tools
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electro-optical engineering design
  • Experience with optical and RF test and measurement equipment and laboratory tools
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: MATLAB, Lumerical, Zemax, VPI, Python, C/C++, LabView
