The Fiber Optic Design Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, engineering, and documenting outside plant (OSP) fiber optic networks that support reliable, scalable broadband deployment. This role develops construction-ready designs for both new builds and upgrades to existing networks, with primary focus on FTTH/FTTx architecture and, where applicable, RF and hybrid fiber-coaxial network environments. The position is accountable for route design, cable sizing, fiber assignments, optical distribution layouts, cabinet and hub placement, splice planning, and construction support to ensure network designs are accurate, compliant, cost-effective, and ready for field execution. This role also partners closely with route engineering, construction, operations, permitting, and contractor teams to maintain project quality, schedule, and documentation standards.
