Perform in-depth and advanced repairs and troubleshooting on the mechanical and electrical aspects of electrical power generation. This role requires a technician to logically evaluate jobs, utilize mathematical formulas for troubleshooting, and maintain a consistent productivity rate. Daily service report writing and time entry are essential. The technician will monitor systems like Modbus, Ethernet, and CAN Buss, requiring above-average computer skills for file and parameter uploads/downloads. Emergency call-out duty on a rotation basis is expected, requiring accessibility via phone or pager. The role demands comprehension of Caterpillar UPS systems and the ability to obtain necessary training. Effective communication, both written and verbal, with internal and external personnel and customers is crucial, as is the ability to train end-users on equipment operation. The technician must interpret and modify schematics to as-built conditions and interpret manuals. A strong awareness of safety factors around high-power circuits and adherence to company safety policies are mandatory. Proficiency in identifying system components, including modular systems, processors, power supplies, I/O modules, and communication modules, is required. The ability to modify or fabricate products to meet job-specific requirements is also necessary. Attendance at relevant training courses, including monthly Pure Safety, is expected, with timely notification of supervisor regarding training needs.
