About The Position

General Dynamics Mission System is currently seeking an Advanced Electrical Engineer in our Annapolis Junction, MD facility. This position involves interacting with optical, mechanical and software design teams to assist in the overall development of systems. The role includes planning and leading electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conducting experimental tests, and evaluating results to formulate and implement solutions to issues. The engineer will also contribute to the generation and maintenance of documentation, specify, select and qualify active and passive components, develop and benchmark system performance models, and develop and implement test procedures, evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
  • 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
  • Proven mixed signal circuit design and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools
  • Knowledge of electrical assembly and test, communications-related tools (BERT, sampling oscilloscope, OSA)
  • High speed and mixed-signal RF design experience (A/D, D/A, opamp). Datarates 3 Gbps and above
  • Panel and power electronics design experience
  • Familiarity with software development
  • Experience with R&D rapid turnaround including concept, design, modeling, prototype, vendor interface, and test
  • Experience leading small teams, interacting with customers, and presenting technical information to a variety of audiences
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design

  • U.S. citizenship is required
