About The Position

As an Advanced Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role on the GDMS Free Space Optical (FSO) communications team, supporting the electrical design, development, integration, and test of hardware as we mature our work from prototype to product. You will contribute across multiple concurrent programs spanning space, airborne, and tactical ground domains, applying sound engineering practices to design, build, test, and deliver reliable electrical systems. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful technical work while growing alongside a collaborative, experienced engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficient using electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
  • Habitually ahead of technology trends, with background in test, troubleshooting, and reading circuit card schematics
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
  • Research & Development experience including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, and testing
  • Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze power, high-speed signal, sensor, and control circuits for FSO hardware.
  • Create schematics and board layouts, coordinate fabrication/assembly, and troubleshoot boards through prototype bring-up and test.
  • Develop test approaches, use lab equipment to verify performance, and resolve hardware issues in integrated optical communication systems.
