Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong understanding of electronics principles, topologies, and design methodologies
- Ability to learn new technologies and handle increasing design complexity
- Experience leading a small team of technical personnel
- Proficiency in teaching and mentoring junior engineers
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on debugging capabilities
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in electrical engineering
- Effective communication skills with ability to present technical concepts clearly
Nice To Haves
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (OrCAD, Xpedition, or similar)
- Working knowledge of digital and networking electronics
- Experience with circuit simulation software (PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB, or similar)
- Experience designing FPGA digital circuits and/or VHDL programming
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles with practical application experience
- Ability to translate system requirements into circuit designs independently
- Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for complex electronic circuits
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and testing of underwater acoustic system electrical components
- Design and analyze analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion, high-speed digital signaling, and power distribution
- Conduct obsolescence and End-of-Life (EOL) analysis on existing designs; lead component replacement and redesign implementation efforts
- Perform integration, testing, troubleshooting, and verification of electrical hardware; identify and resolve complex technical issues
- Lead component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions
