The NNL electrical community maintains a suite of various laboratories that are used to qualify Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control (RPI&C) software and hardware, enable swift response to design project fleet support activities, and to support crew familiarization with RPI&C systems. The Bettis Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) RPI&C infrastructure team is responsible for maintaining and modernizing the RPI&C test system infrastructure at Bettis site in addition to pursuing innovative test system solutions for current and future applications. While not a prerequisite for application to this requisition the selected employee will be required to maintain qualifications as an electrical worker and a lock out tag out authorized employee. The Bettis Infrastructure Development (BID) unit is looking for an experienced advanced level electrical hardware engineer in pursuit of the mission described above. DOE Q clearance is required for this position. The selected candidate will need to have or obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
  • Must have or obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NR Program RPI&C work
  • Experience or interest in designing printed circuit boards, electrical cabinets, electrical noise filters, and integrating the designed hardware into larger electrical systems
  • Experience or interest in learning electrical safety and authoring engineered work packages for electrical work
