About The Position

This role involves operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts, requiring the ability to load and unload materials, detect machine malfunctions, and perform typical machine shop operations. The position also includes maintaining a safe and clean work environment, communicating with coworkers, and reporting defective materials. A key aspect of the role is performing inspections of machined products and completing associated paperwork.

Requirements

  • Operate computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts.
  • Load and unload materials onto the machine.
  • Detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
  • Load cut parts onto racks, skids, and/or shelves.
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding production runs.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Perform typical machine shop operations.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to manager or CSF.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
  • Perform CNC related duties including power up and power down, lock out/tag out, calling up and entering CNC programs, completing operator maintenance functions, running the machine, and handling material.
  • Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
  • Perform fabrication.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on concrete for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Able to work overtime as needed including weekends.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
  • Follow routers.
  • Use simple math to perform basic calculations.
  • Use basic hand held measuring tools.
  • Must follow all safety guidelines.
  • Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must follow Safety and Environmental Polices and Guiding Principles.
