The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma Schusterman Center in Tulsa seeks an advanced assistant or associate professor of educational leadership for a full-time, tenure-track position. The successful candidate will join an established academic community and contribute to scholarship and preparation of scholar-practitioners addressing the needs of schools and communities in Northeast Oklahoma, across the state, and beyond. The position focuses on transforming preK–12 school and district leadership practice in response to community and societal needs and challenges. The role includes active scholarship, productive teaching, and mentoring in Tulsa’s master’s, Ph.D., and Ed.D. programs. These programs use an inquiry-based model that interweaves scholarship, teaching, and service across topics relevant to leadership in schools, districts, community organizations, and policy contexts. Areas include human and group thriving, organizational improvement and improvement science, teacher and leader supervision and instructional leadership, school climate and working conditions, school finance and law, and authentic research-practice partnerships with communities and community organizations. The position aligns with the work of the Leadership and Policy Center for Thriving Schools and Communities (THRIVE) and the Oklahoma Center for Education Policy (OCEP). THRIVE connects leadership preparation and development with social science and policy research to develop theoretical, empirical, and practical knowledge supporting schools and communities. OCEP produces and disseminates educational research to inform Oklahoma policy, with emphasis on educational access, accountability, and outcomes.
