Adult Volleyball Official – Recreational Leagues
About The Position
Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison’s public recreation provider, offering a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities for all ages. MSCR provides programs including swimming instruction, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50+ fitness, adult sport leagues, and outdoor pursuits. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports in Madison schools. Volleyball leagues play several nights per week at various gyms throughout Madison, with two 7-week seasons and one 5-week season each year: October-November, January-February, and March-April.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- No prior experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of volleyball play and rules.
- Must attend new officials training and pass a rules test with a score of 75% or better.
Nice To Haves
- Experience officiating in other leagues.
- Understanding of NFHS Volleyball rules and regulations.
- CPR certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Officiate games according to NFHS and local rules.
- Maintain a recreational and fun environment for all league players.
- Exhibit great customer service, professionalism, and respect for teams, as well as an understanding of the sport.
