About The Position

SOUND Behavioral Health is expanding and seeking an Adult Services Clinician in Seattle, WA. This role offers a supportive environment, extensive supervision, and opportunities for professional growth. The clinician will guide clients in understanding their behaviors, developing healthier coping mechanisms, and changing responses to challenging situations. Sound clinicians are expected to demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding, and the organization advocates for Diversity, Equity, Justice, and Inclusion for both staff and clients. The position is on-site at the Northgate clinic, with a Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm schedule. The clinician will provide intensive outpatient services to a cohort of older adolescents (18-25) and adult mental health clients, including intensive case management with outreach and engagement. Interventions may be time-limited or longer-term, integrated into an outcome-oriented treatment plan within a managed care framework. The role involves active participation in treatment planning and review, documentation of clinical services, and collaboration with primary care physicians, DCYF, inpatient facilities, mental health residential facilities, and other adult servicing agencies to create comprehensive treatment plans for clients with significant mental health problems. Case management also includes coordination, consultation with other service providers and community resources, and referrals to meet client needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies.
  • Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy and/or case management approach to providing services.
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County, and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
  • Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.
  • Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with a complex and diverse population.
  • Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager and demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment plans.
  • Crisis experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
  • Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
  • Performs outreaches/services to community locations to engage clients in care.
  • To comply with County and State standards there will be service intensity expectations.
  • Prepares necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes, and incorporates them into clinical records.
  • Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.
  • Assists clients to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
  • Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
  • Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
  • Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
  • Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
