About The Position

We even offer up to $25,000 in student loan repayment for our Imaging professionals! These positions are available in levels 1-3 based on experience, education, and/or certification and licensure. The Radiographer I, under direct supervision, performs routine Diagnostic X-Ray examinations using fixed and/or portable equipment in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT or Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements (Level 1).
  • 0-3 years experience (Level 1).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) (Required for all levels).
  • ARRT(RT) Certification required within 12 months of hire (Level 1).
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT (Level 2 & 3).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Radiographer required (Level 2).
  • ARRT(RT)(R) required at hire (Level 2 & 3).
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Radiographer required (Level 3).
  • Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; radiologic technologies and terminology associated with Diagnostic X-Ray.
  • Ability and skill to apply core-level primary specialty theory, practices and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze and annotate study data or procedure documentation with general supervision or assistance.
  • Knowledge of imaging and Diagnostic X-Ray policies, procedures, techniques, and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments.
  • Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others.
  • Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled.
  • Ability to be sensitive to patients’ physical and psychological needs.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, performs diagnostic imaging on patients as ordered by a care provider in routine or emergent conditions.
  • Ensures testing is performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus on patient‑centric care.
  • Assists with basic fluoroscopic procedures when required.
  • Prepares patients for procedures and reviews clinical history to align with provider-ordered tests.
  • Safely administers contrast per protocol and identifies, manages, and escalates contrast reactions and changes in patient condition.
  • Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, provides clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines.
  • Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards.
  • Accurately documents in EMR/PACS per organizational policies and procedures.
  • Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician.
  • Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensures that technical quality of testing meets established protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
  • Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as requested.
  • May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.
  • May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members.
  • Assists with onboarding of new team members.
  • May provide on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
