Adult Primary Clinical Therapist
About The Position
Compass Health Center is hiring an Adult Primary Clinical Therapist for its Brookfield, Wisconsin location. The therapist will work with patients aged 18 and older in the Mood & Anxiety Program, with opportunities to cross-train in adult specialty services for Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, and Mental Health and Substance Use. The role is part of an interdisciplinary team providing partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient behavioral health care. The therapist develops and implements individualized treatment plans, conducts individual therapy, collaborates with patients’ outpatient providers, and guides patients through their treatment programs. They work closely with Group Therapists, Family Therapists, Prescribers, and other treatment team members to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care. Training and support are available to help broaden clinical skills.
Requirements
- Be a psychologist or master’s-level therapist with a clinical license.
- Knowledge and experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based therapies.
- Experience working with patients in crisis.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of clinical work experience post-Master’s is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in a partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting is ideal.
Responsibilities
- Complete intake evaluations as needed to determine diagnosis and program appropriateness.
- Create and update treatment plans.
- Meet with patients individually to assess progress and guide treatment planning.
- Coordinate care with patients’ individual providers to support continuity of care.
- Assess patients’ progress and determine need for a higher level of care or discharge.
- Communicate with patients’ family members or support systems when indicated.
- Document care in the electronic medical records system.
- Participate in crisis management as part of a treatment team.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Provide group and family therapy as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
