About The Position

Compass Health Center is seeking an experienced therapist with a passion for delivering evidence-based therapy to adults in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)/Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting. The role focuses on working with patients who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Unlike traditional abstinence-based programs, Compass Health Center's approach is primarily skills-based and can be tailored to individual patient goals, including reducing use, harm reduction, or abstinence, while also exploring the relationship between mental health and substance use. The Primary Therapist will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, conduct individual therapy sessions, collaborate with patients' outpatient teams, and lead patients through their overall treatment program. This role involves close partnership with other treatment team members, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers, to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care within a modern, inviting facility.

Requirements

  • Hold LCSW, LCPC, LPC, LSW, MFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD licenses or certifications
  • 2+ years of clinical experience conducting individual and family therapy
  • Ability to assist families and patients in talking about difficult topics
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast-paced and changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
  • Provide group and individual therapy
  • Provide family therapy as needed
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, on a weekly basis or as needed
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Communicate with patients’ homeschool and attend school re-entry meetings
  • Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need
  • Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge
  • Chart progress of patients appropriately
  • Complete administrative documentation (initial treatment plans/updates, discharges, attendance, research)
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Provide insurance utilization team with updates
  • Provide group therapy, as needed
