About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking Adult Gerontology Acute Care/Primary Care, MSN-Online Faculty. This role involves sharing knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses are eight weeks long and meet once or twice a week, blending face-to-face interaction with technology for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Requirements

  • MSN and DNP (or PhD in nursing degree) are required.
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience is required; preferably at the graduate level.
  • Must have an active unencumbered RN nursing license (compact/multi-state licensure highly preferred).
  • Must have an active unencumbered APRN nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Must be board certified by ANCC or AACN as ACNP or AGACNP (additional NP certification highly preferred).
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet.

Nice To Haves

  • Online teaching experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Covista syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
