About The Position

The Adult Engagement Internship program at The Morgan Library & Museum provides an introduction to career opportunities in museums and special collections libraries. The intern will assist in the production of public programs for adult audiences, including concerts, film screenings, lectures, and workshops. This role involves supporting programs related to specific exhibitions and events, assisting with gallery tours, and providing administrative support such as event paperwork, signage, and data collection. The internship is designed to offer hands-on experience in program production and public engagement within a museum setting.

Requirements

Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student
Strong interest in a career in the museum or research library fields
Eligibility to work in the United States; international candidates must be eligible to participate in a paid internship program in the United States
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Keen interest in visual and performing arts, literature, and adult education

Responsibilities

Assist in the production of public programs, including concerts, live arts, film screenings, after-hours programs, lectures, tours, and workshops for adult audiences.
Assist with program production related to exhibitions such as Rembrandt’s Lions: Art and Exile in the Dutch Republic, Ragtime: Cakewalk in Pianoland, and William Blake: Paradise Lost.
Assist with College Night events.
Assist with gallery tours.
Provide house and stage management in the 264-seat theater.
Liaise with the public.
Provide administrative support, including event-related paperwork, signage, printed concert programs, and data collection.
