About The Position

The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking part-time Adult Education Instructors to provide individualized basic Language Arts, math, science, and social studies instruction for GED Exam preparation or for entry into career or post-secondary education. Currently we have the need for an instructor to provide instruction at the Warren County Jail working 5 hours per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent foreign credential.
• Instructors that are teaching high school level mathematics, must have a secondary math teaching certification or a bachelor's degree or higher.

Nice To Haves

• Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
• Teaching experience preferred
• Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards
• Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students
• Retired teachers are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized basic Language Arts, math, science, and social studies instruction for GED Exam preparation or for entry into career or post-secondary education.
• Provide instruction at the Warren County Jail.
• Attend one hour each for Professional Development, Prep, Case Management/Student Support per week.
