About The Position

The Program Project Specialist II / Adult Education Grants Coordinator position coordinates the analysis, evaluation, and first level approval of Adult Education grant funding applications in the Grants Management Enterprise (GME) system. The position provides technical assistance to ensure compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations (2 CFR Part 200), the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Title II, and the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §15-232 and §15-234. This position conducts desk monitoring and on-site monitoring of Adult Education providers to ensure grant contract compliance. Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is/may be required for this position. The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant coordination or Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year experience
  • Knowledge of common rules, laws and regulations related to Arizona Adult Education
  • Knowledge or experience with 2 CFR Part 200 and federal grant programs

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the review and approval of Adult Education grant funding applications for fiscal, programmatic, and contract compliance per 2 CFR PART 200, WIOA Title II, and ARS §15-232 and §15-234
  • Coordinate technical assistance to Adult Education grant program providers to ensure programmatic and contract compliance per C.F.R., WIOA Title II, and A.R.S. §15-232 and §15-234
  • Coordinate the development of grant data reports for fiscal monitoring and audits and internal and external monitoring
  • Coordinate the Adult Education and High School Equivalency Services' procurement process by submitting purchase requests, tracking deliverables, and tracking invoice payments
  • Provide fiscal support and technical assistance to the Adult Education and High School Equivalency Services unit
