About The Position

This position works under the direction of the Adult Program Manager 1 for a program serving clients age 18 and over to carry out the IDDSD mission and to promote and model its values. This position is part of the management team. The management team is responsible for assuring that the DD programs are administered and delivered with established Federal, State and County rules, policies and protocols. This position is designated to provide direct supervision to support case management teams by providing guidance and full coordination of ongoing case management needs including supervision of staff, training, information dissemination and assist in planning and implementation of specialized programs. This is a direct response to audit, survey and committee recommendations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework in a field related to management such as business or public administration, or a field related to developmental disabilities services may be substituted for up to three years required experience.
  • Five years of experience with staff supervision
  • Five years of experience in technical or professional level staff work related to developmental disabilities services.
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Assign work; establish work schedules and develop work procedures consistent with the county and department policy
  • Develop plans and procedures for achieving objectives and operational goals to ensure program goals and objectives are met and consistency is achieved: modify as necessary to meet changing conditions
  • Develop plans and procedures to assure that new and op-going staff stay up-to-date on Developmental Disabilities programs.
  • Provide information, technical assistance and professional consultation for staff to assist and advise them with complex and difficult issues.
  • Convene regular section meetings to ensure the distribution and discussion of new state or county policy and budget and program updates; to provide a forum for staff feedback; training; and opportunities for team building
  • Convene regular meetings with Service Coordinators and lead workers to ensure that coordination of team and distribution of tasks to the work team is handled appropriately
  • Review and respond to customer and general public comments in a timely manner
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure program criteria, performance standards, and time-lines are met using various tools including conferring with staff, reports, data, client feedback, case reviews, and other information from the public and other sources.
  • Evaluate program systems, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to explore opportunities to create efficiencies and improve quality.
  • Advise Program Manager 1 regarding at-risk client or crisis situations that engage them or other officials, and manage the situation and related communications until the matter is resolved
  • Identify service gaps and program needs in order to assist Program Manager 1 to engage in advocacy to develop and implement plans in development of criteria to evaluate needs of clients.
  • Liaison with community providers to assist clients with developmental disabilities to access services that meet their needs including educational, community based, residential and vocational programs/supports
  • Promote and foster a diverse workforce and discrimination/harassment-free workplace
  • Participate in IDDSD Manager meetings to bring forth case management issues, system analysis and planning.
  • Take initiative toward participation in those meetings that will impact the future sustainability and progress of IDDSD.

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $85,774.23 - $131,454.21 Annual
