About The Position
UCP Long Island is hiring full-time team members to support adults with developmental disabilities in a positive, high-energy day program. The role involves assisting with daily needs, supporting activities and community outings, promoting independence, transporting individuals in agency vehicles, maintaining documentation, and contributing to a positive team environment. Paid training is provided for candidates without caregiving experience.
Requirements
- Valid New York State driver’s license.
- Ability to assist with hands-on care, including lifting.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Caregiving experience, such as HHA, CNA, or PCA, is a plus but not required; paid training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with meals, mobility, and personal care while treating them with dignity and respect.
- Support activities, games, and community outings.
- Encourage independence and help individuals build confidence and life skills.
- Safely transport individuals using agency vehicles, including wheelchair lifts and tie-downs.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily notes, attendance, and logs.
- Work as part of a team to create a positive, engaging environment.
