About The Position

The Adoption Specialist (Data Protection & Governance) is a core member of the Island Catalyst Team, an elite unit focused on accelerating enterprise customer deployments. This role involves time-boxed engagements where the specialist partners directly with key accounts to drive adoption and ensure customers can confidently manage their data security. The position offers a unique opportunity to build the methodology for securing and governing enterprise data within the Island Enterprise Platform from the ground up. This role requires 30-60% travel and is remote-friendly, with a preference for Dallas, TX.

Requirements

  • 3–10 years in implementation consulting, solutions engineering, or a technical customer-facing role.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying Data Protection and Data Governance work in enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise security concepts, including DLP, zero trust, and endpoint policy management.
  • Strong technical foundation with enterprise identity (Entra ID, Okta), SSO/SAML/SCIM, and browser environments.
  • Understanding of AI topics, experience working with AI to execute work, and experience using AI to support modernizing data protection and data governance.
  • Proven ability to lead workshops and drive decision-making among senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex data security requirements into clear guidance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (30–60%) for on-site customer engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead time-boxed, structured deployment engagements focusing on Data Protection from kickoff through handoff.
  • Conduct on-site workshops with customer IT, security, and data governance teams to define policy requirements.
  • Work with CSM and Deployment specialists to configure Island Enterprise Platform environments, focusing on DLP, web filtering, AI protection, data lineage/visibility, and endpoint policy management.
  • Identify and remove technical and organizational governance blockers in real-time.
  • Deliver a complete, documented handoff that leaves customers ready to manage their data security independently.
  • Design, refine, and document the Island Deployment Framework as it relates to data governance.
  • Develop specialized workshop guides and customer-facing materials for Data Protection configurations.
  • Build a library of reusable deployment artifacts, such as DLP configuration playbooks and best-practice documentation.
  • Capture lessons learned from each engagement to improve the overall data governance methodology.
  • Develop and refine standardized engagement frameworks, templates, and methodologies for Catalyst Data Protection programs.
  • Build reusable governance artifacts—customer guides, assessment frameworks, and configuration templates—for internal and external use.
  • Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to ensure customer feedback drives continuous improvement across policies and platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Success Managers, Solution Architects, and Security Engineers to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Communicate adoption metrics, milestones, and blockers to executive stakeholders at both Island and customer organizations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Island’s Data Protection & Governance Center of Excellence.
