Under the leadership of the BMS@ Jefferson Program Manager and in close collaboration with our dynamic School-Based Health Center (SBHC) team, the Adolescent Wellness Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing health equity and student success across Jefferson Campus.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • At least 2 years working in community healthcare, youth services, or reproductive health.
  • Proven experience supporting teen leadership or peer education programs.
  • 2+ years of clerical experience and confidence using Microsoft Office, databases, and Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
  • Clear, inclusive communicator with a knack for building relationships across diverse communities.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and travel locally as needed.
  • Independent, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative outreach initiatives to boost enrollment and awareness of SBHC services.
  • Organize clinic tours for incoming 9th graders and promote health campaigns across campus.
  • Facilitate student intake and appointment scheduling with care and compassion.
  • Design and deliver engaging wellness workshops and events (think: health fairs, trivia nights, and peer-led discussions).
  • Partner with local organizations and NYC Teens Connection to bring evidence-based education programs like Seventeen Days and Plan A to students.
  • Work closely with school staff to integrate health education that resonates with students' lives.
  • Support students applying to DYCD’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and MSKCC’s Summer Internship Program.
  • Coordinate professional development and health advocacy trainings for student leaders.
  • Help young people discover their voice—and their career path.
