About The Position

The Admixture Tech II Float will support multiple clinics including Winter Park Village, Lake Nona, Kissimmee, Sebring, Oviedo, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Orange City, Deland, and Orlando. This role requires sterile compounding experience and involves performing complex technical skills in preparing hazardous and non-hazardous agents under the supervision of a dispensing practitioner. The technician must possess techniques in sterile product preparation, understand biological safety cabinets, and have knowledge of antineoplastic/cytotoxic agents and their handling precautions. The Admixture Tech is expected to maintain high productivity and performance while contributing to total patient care. Responsibilities include managing medication and supply inventory, acting as a liaison between various departments, and ensuring accurate and timely preparation of medications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Professional pharmacy technician certification (or equivalent), required; preferably Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Minimum of one year experience as a pharmacy or admixture technician, preferably in a clinical setting.
IV sterile admixture experience, preferred.

Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness.

Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation) is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.

Must be willing to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings as well as training sessions.
Medical terminology and attention to detail, required.
Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.

Nice To Haves

College degree, preferred.
IV sterile compounding experience is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

Review medication orders to ensure accuracy, ascertain the products needed, and evaluate their suitability.
Perform mathematical calculations to determine appropriate drug measurements for the admixture of ordered medications.
Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications as ordered by the prescriber in an accurate and timely manner.
Perform proper donning and doffing of garb to ensure aseptic preparation of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs.
Understand the appropriate use and limitations of any selected Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure it functions properly.
Adequately don and doff Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent damage and reduce the spread of contamination.
Maintain necessary records and logs including, but not limited to, clinical research trials, compassionate and non-billable drugs, waste manifests, biological safety cabinet cleaning, mixing room cleaning, refrigerated and ambient drug temperatures, controlled substances, and eye wash stations.
Order, stock, and dispense medical supplies and drugs.
Manage inventory, including ordering, dispensing, auditing, storage, and reconciliation, to ensure patient safety, reduce waste, and maintain product integrity.
Complete all education and training required by organization, state, federal, and regulatory agencies.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous drugs and waste materials following state and federal regulations, including but not limited to USP <797>, USP <800>, OSHA, NIOSH, and State and Federal Departments of Environmental Protection.
Assess temperature monitoring systems and track the accurate temperature of all ambient and refrigerated drugs.
Document and report drug loss, communicate clinic charges and initiate drug replacement/reimbursement.
Collaborate with various departments (i.e., Patient Financial Navigators, Procurement) to track and order all patient's drugs to minimize interruption in patient care.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Pharmacy Operations Supervisor and Pharmacy Operations Manager.
Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support the team and FCS.
Float to meet clinic needs, with travel expectations of 75%-100% weekly.
