About The Position

The Patient Registration Representative is responsible for greeting and registering patients in a prompt, friendly, and professional manner. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for patients, visitors, and families.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required with over 2 years of customer service.
• Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, multitasking in a fast-paced environment and type 40+ words a minute.
• Must be able to sit for more than 66% of the workday.
• Requires the ability to take patients by wheelchair to other areas of the hospital for appointments or treatments.
• Vaccinations per IDPH, CDC, and CMS.

Responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently and accurately upon arrival
• Greet and assist all patients, visitors, and responsible parties in a courteous manner
• Respond to emergency management situations as needed
• Collect co-payments and patient account balances when applicable
• Handle incoming hospital calls and route them to the appropriate departments
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards
