About The Position

Responsible for the management of admitting personnel in assigned areas. Accountable for assigned reports and completion. This is a working supervisor role that involves direct participation in admission processes. The position ensures efficient and quality services from the assigned area, maintaining the integrity of admissions and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include managing up-front collections (training, reporting, and monitoring), ensuring adherence to all policies and laws regarding the release of information, and acting as support personnel and consultant in satellite areas. The role involves providing information to the general public, visiting public, patients, physicians, and physician offices, maintaining a polite and professional demeanor, and striving to meet and exceed goals for responsibility, tasks, and patient satisfaction as set by Administration and Corporate expectations. The position requires taking initiative to improve processes, aiming for positive customer outcomes, and leading by example.

Requirements

  • Previous clerical experience
  • Customer service skills
  • Previous admitting experience or physician office experience
  • Able to write and communicate on a high school level

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of admission personnel in assigned areas. Acts as support/consultant personnel to decentralized admission areas with and under direction of Admitting Manager.
  • Provides leadership through facilitating BMH visions/values through personal example and interaction with staff. Communicates policies and goals, which will result in enhanced employee skills, management, and leadership.
  • Maintains budget and identifies opportunities for cost reduction, enhance profitability and optimal resource utilization.
  • Demonstrates Service First characteristics to all. Sets example for department and other hospital personnel. Identifies opportunities for improvement resulting in enhanced service and customer satisfaction.
  • Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed without complaint.
