About The Position

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for providing operational support for the Admissions department. This includes data input and processing, phone and email-based customer support, admissions event support, and front desk customer relations.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or significant work experience in lieu thereof.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in higher education student services or in a related professional customer service role, or in a high-volume data entry role.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to greet all guests of the CIA in a hospitable manner.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate with other department members and work effectively with various aspects of the CIA community.
  • Details oriented and thorough.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to reinforce the CIA’s commitment to prospective students, parents, and other parties.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Strong computer experience, which must include abilities to work effectively with the internet, data entry, and MS Office suite products, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Answering the Admissions Inquiry/Application phone line and providing unsurpassed customer service for all CIA campus locations by assisting prospective students, parents and educators with various admissions-based questions, concerns, and issues from the inquiry to applicant stage.
  • Provide reception desk coverage to include welcoming and coordinating guest traffic, assisting students and staff, answering the main admissions phone line, maintaining the appearance of the reception lobby, and maintaining copies of printed materials.
  • Perform all data entry tasks from prospective student inquiry to applicant stage including but not limited to event registration, inquiries, applications, supporting documents, and records maintenance.
  • Responsible for the timely processing of all applications and supporting documentation, as well as effectively communicating specific needs of prospective students to Admissions Counselors and Enrollment Managers.
  • Responsible for inventory management and shipment of admissions and recruitment materials, as well as giveaways.
  • Provide sales support to Admissions Counselors and yield teams as needed, including, but not limited to, working admissions events, conducting outreach, and advising students and families on phone, email, social media, and in-person.
  • Confidently interact with prospective students, families, and educators, communicating key CIA selling messages.
  • Run reports to ensure accuracy and operational integrity.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
