Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) - Part Time Days
About The Position
Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL, providing 24-hour emergency services. The hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults, and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. The treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect, while delivering high-quality care. This position is responsible for all aspects of the intake and admission process, including handling inquiry calls, communicating with referral sources, providing hospital and program information, making outside referrals when appropriate, assessing and triaging mental health status, making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the CFBH physician, identifying insurance benefits, pre-certifying patient care, completing all admission requirements, communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff, and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
- Minimum One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida required.
- Current CPR Certification required (Can be obtained upon hire)
- Knowledge of current nursing procedures
- Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM / Week 2: M & Tu 9 AM - 5 PM
Nice To Haves
- Six (6) months experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Requests clinical information on potential patients
- Initiates verification of insurance coverage to determine viability of insurance for individuals seeking admission
- Coordinates admissions with all necessary unit staff and Physician
- Follows EMTALA regulations and identifies high risk individuals presenting for emergency care
