About The Position

Breakthrough Silicon Valley (BTSV) launches talented students historically excluded from higher education on the path to college and inspires high school and college students to become leaders, advocates, and educators. BTSV's tuition-free program offers year-round academic support, counseling, and advocacy for diverse students from under-resourced communities. The program also provides professional development for high school and college students to teach under the guidance of seasoned educators. BTSV is an affiliate of The Breakthrough Collaborative, a national service organization. The Admissions Program Intern will support BTSV’s admissions team. In the fall, the intern will assist with launching the middle school admissions application for specific school districts, serving as the primary contact for prospective families, answering questions, and providing technical support. Responsibilities also include developing presentations and marketing materials (including social media), and providing logistical support for scheduling presentations. As applications are received, the intern will help process them and schedule/conduct interviews. In the spring, the intern will support planning for BTSV’s summer programs, including family outreach and enrolling admitted students. They will also assist with the logistics for the New Family Welcome event. Data collection and management are key, involving determining recruitment strategy effectiveness, creating reports for stakeholders, and using Salesforce for data entry.
