About The Position

The Overnight Host is responsible for facilitating a positive and safe overnight campus experience for prospective students. This role supports the Admissions Office by hosting prospective students during evening, overnight, and morning hours, providing insight into residential life and student community. Overnight Hosts are expected to ensure the well-being of their guest, communicate effectively with Admissions staff regarding schedules and any concerns, and uphold all institutional and residence life policies. This position requires reliability, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to represent the college in a professional and responsible manner.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a positive and safe overnight campus experience for prospective students.
  • Support the Admissions Office by hosting prospective students during evening, overnight, and morning hours.
  • Provide insight into residential life and student community.
  • Ensure the well-being of guests.
  • Communicate effectively with Admissions staff regarding schedules and any concerns.
  • Uphold all institutional and residence life policies.
  • Demonstrate a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor in all interactions, representing Covenant College and its mission with enthusiasm and integrity.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and communicate in a way that reflects and promotes a positive image of the Covenant community.
  • Take responsibility for creating a positive and safe experience for prospective students.
  • Maintain availability to host 1–2 nights per week (Monday–Thursday) during the academic term, with occasional weekend availability as needed, and commit to all required Admissions overnight events.
  • Share dinner with guests and possibly their families while hosting.
  • Remain present and engaged throughout the evening and following morning.
  • Facilitate an authentic campus experience through appropriate social and campus activities.
  • Adhere to all hosting guidelines and campus policies, including maintaining appropriate boundaries and not taking guests off campus.
  • Respond promptly to all Admissions communications.
  • Communicate proactively with relevant campus partners (e.g., roommates, RAs, RDs) regarding hosting responsibilities and schedule.
