About The Position

The Admissions Officer supports Georgetown University’s undergraduate enrollment goals through the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of prospective students. The position is responsible for managing an assigned geographic recruitment territory, cultivating relationships with prospective students and families, and supporting strategic recruitment and yield initiatives designed to attract qualified and diverse applicants. The Admissions Officer participates fully in the holistic review and evaluation of undergraduate applications and serves as a member of the Committee on Admissions. The role includes conducting presentations and information sessions, counseling students and families throughout the admissions process, coordinating alumni volunteer engagement within assigned regions, and contributing to office-wide operational priorities and special projects. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One or more years of admissions, enrollment management, higher education, or related experience preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel independently for recruitment activities
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in student recruitment, counseling, or admissions processes
  • Experience working with students, families, or educational partners
  • Familiarity with Slate or other admissions CRM systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned geographic recruitment territory while cultivating relationships with prospective students, families, counselors, and alumni volunteers
  • Review and evaluate undergraduate applications using a holistic admissions framework and participate in admissions committee decision-making
  • Conduct presentations, information sessions, high school visits, and recruitment events both on-campus and within assigned travel regions
  • Counsel prospective and admitted students regarding academic programs, student life, financial aid, and admissions requirements
  • Coordinate and support Alumni Admissions Program activities and volunteer engagement within assigned regions
  • Contribute to strategic recruitment initiatives, operational priorities, and special projects aligned with undergraduate enrollment goals.
