The primary purpose of your job is to support facility operations by increasing the facility census. This role involves managing the admissions process efficiently to ensure a positive experience for residents, families, and supporting staff. The Admissions Director plans, directs, and monitors the daily operations of the Admissions Department to ensure that budgeted resident census goals are met and that residents are admitted in a professional and efficient manner. This includes screening patients, completing admission and financial responsibility forms, and confirming insurance benefit coverage. The position requires the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Sales and Marketing department. Collaboration with leaders of other facility departments is essential for timely communication and to enhance the admissions experience. The role also involves coordinating and arranging physical, social, emotional, and support services requirements, including transportation, obtaining applicant information, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of facility services to educate referral sources. The Admissions Director oversees patient bed assignments and preliminary paperwork, completes the resident intake process, and coordinates with the Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager to assure appropriateness of admissions. Maintaining and communicating an accurate record of bed availability is crucial. The position requires initiating, nurturing, and maintaining contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners to maximize referrals and facilitate admissions. Attendance at daily stand-up meetings is mandatory. The employee must be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures. Maintaining the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information, and protecting the organization's reputation by keeping information confidential are key responsibilities. Assistance may be required in planning and executing outreach events such as on-site facility health fairs and educational programs. Continuous professional development through educational opportunities, professional publications, and maintaining personal networks is expected.
