The Admissions Coordinator supports the sales department’s activities in the pre-admission, admission, discharge, and follow-up processes. This role is responsible for assisting the Admission Director in developing census and quality mix by providing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with appropriate information to assist in their decision. The coordinator will also assist with completing and implementing the facility’s sales plan, handling phone inquiries, conducting tours, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of admissions paperwork. This position ensures a smooth transition from home or hospital to the facility with clear communication to all necessary departments, manages relationships with existing and new referring sources, and trains internal backup sales/admission team members. The role requires understanding and explaining facility services, screening residents for admission, understanding nursing home regulations and survey processes, explaining financial eligibility, and utilizing the Electronic Medical Director for referral information. The Admissions Coordinator also assists with customer service initiatives and participates in on-call duties.
