About The Position

This role is responsible for managing inquiries from referrers, potential patients, and their families seeking access to care. The Admissions Coordinator participates with the program leadership team in approving admissions and coordinates all details of the admissions process. This position also involves maintaining electronic files to facilitate program communication and provide input to other departments. The role requires flexibility in schedule to be on-call for admissions, take referral calls on weekends as needed, and rotate weekend coverage with other Admissions Coordinators. Additionally, the Admissions Coordinator will help cross-cover other Specialty Admissions programs, including The Retreat, Comprehensive Outpatient Psychiatric Evaluation Service, LifeLaunch, Center for Eating Disorders, Trauma Disorders Unit, and outpatient services for The Center for OCD and Anxiety. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned for Specialty Admissions will also be part of this role.

Requirements

  • Clinical expertise in admissions intake, assessment, and/or concierge customer service acquired through 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • A current Maryland Driver’s license at time of appointment.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to represent programs professionally.
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients, family members, and referrers in addition to representing the hospital to outsiders.
  • Analytic ability to assess and triage patients for admission.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail to help ensure a smooth admissions process.

  • Experience with behavioral healthcare is strongly preferred.
