Austen Riggs Center (ARC) is seeking a thoughtful, clinically minded, and highly collaborative Admissions Clinician to help guide prospective patients, families, and referring clinicians through the admissions process. As the first point of contact for many individuals considering treatment, this role plays an essential part in creating a welcoming, informative, and supportive experience from initial inquiry through admission. In this position, you will provide clear information about ARC’s treatment approach, open setting environment, community life, financial considerations, and admission process. You will conduct pre-admission intake interviews, gather and synthesize collateral clinical information, and help determine whether ARC may be an appropriate fit for each prospective patient. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate, organized approach to working with individuals and families during an important decision-making process. The Austen Riggs Center (ARC) is a vital therapeutic community, open psychiatric residential treatment center, and institute for education and research. Our mission is to promote resilience and self-direction in those with complex psychiatric problems—to help people take charge of their lives. Our work is grounded in the conviction that an individual's problems are inherently meaningful, that such problems are best understood in a social context, and that treatment leads to a more fulfilling life when the sources of suffering are addressed.
