About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for an Admissions Clerk to join our team! This role is responsible for the efficient and orderly admission of outpatient testing or procedures. The Admissions Clerk ensures that patient information is collected and entered into the computer system accurately, and that all patients are aware of Urgent Care policies and procedures. The position involves interviewing incoming patients or their representatives, entering required admission information into the computer, and distributing appropriate information to ancillary departments. A key performance indicator for this role is maintaining a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or higher.
• Current BLS Certification.
• One to three month’s related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively, before groups of customers and or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the patient’s information is collected and entered in the computer system accurately.
• Ensure that all patients are aware of Urgent Care policies and procedures.
• Interview incoming patient or representatives and enter information required for admission into computer.
• Distribute appropriate information to all ancillary departments.
• Maintain a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions.
