About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) in Gravette, Arkansas, has an opening for an Admissions Clerk in its Patient Access Department. The Admissions Clerk is responsible for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and outpatients, ensuring patient information is collected and patients are informed of hospital policies. This role involves interviewing patients or representatives, entering data into the computer database, distributing information to ancillary departments, and participating in performance improvement activities. The position also includes operating a multi-line phone system, handling hospital paging, and performing cashier duties for patients and employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Data entry and word processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures.
• Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
• Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database.
• Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.
• Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
• Operates a multi line phone and does all paging for hospital.
• Responsible for cashier duties within the hospital for patients and employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
