As a CNA / Admissions Clerk, you will serve as a key connection point between patients, providers, nursing staff, and administrative teams. This role supports patient registration, medical records management, quality reporting initiatives, and clerical functions while ensuring patients receive professional, compassionate service throughout their healthcare experience. Your work directly supports quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and the efficient operation of the hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current BLS certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Basic computer proficiency required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • CNA certification preferred
  • Previous healthcare, clerical, registration, medical records, or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and registration information
  • Explain hospital policies, patient rights, and registration procedures
  • Assist patients with questions and connect them with available resources
  • Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
  • Answer phones, route calls, and assist patients and visitors as needed
  • Prepare, scan, index, and maintain electronic patient records
  • Review records for completeness, accuracy, and required documentation
  • Track chart deficiencies and communicate follow-up needs with providers and staff
  • Perform quality audits and support regulatory compliance activities
  • Protect patient confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Abstract and report quality data to support organizational improvement efforts
  • Assist nursing staff and clinical teams with clerical duties
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned work areas
  • Support hospital quality initiatives and process improvement projects
  • Collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, and community partners to ensure exceptional service
