About The Position

Western Slope Healthcare Center is looking for a compassionate, organized, and customer-focused Admissions Assistant to join our team! As the first point of contact for prospective residents and their families, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming experience while coordinating admissions and supporting our mission of providing exceptional skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. Requirements

  • Previous admissions, healthcare, or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance verification processes
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR); PointClickCare (PCC) experience is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy healthcare environment
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Welcome prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral partners with professionalism and compassion.
  • Coordinate and schedule admissions, including pre-admission assessments and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate resident records in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
  • Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and financial eligibility processes.
  • Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families.
  • Collaborate with nursing, social services, therapy, and administrative departments to ensure seamless admissions.
  • Prepare admission packets and required documentation.
  • Communicate with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and referral sources to coordinate timely admissions.
  • Support marketing, census development, and community outreach initiatives as needed.
