About The Position

The Admissions and Social Media Assistant for the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences will serve as a representative of the college. This role involves collaborating with the Admissions Coordinator to complete administrative tasks, occasionally joining and leading academic information session presentations for prospective students, and creating content for social media. The position offers an opportunity to grow leadership skills and help others by sharing the Belmont experience.

Requirements

  • Good phone and social etiquette.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be punctual, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel & social channels including Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn.
  • Must have Federal Work Study to be considered.
  • Must be available to work at least two to three days out of the week for a minimum of 2 hours each day.
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University.

Nice To Haves

  • Competent interpersonal communication and public speaking abilities.
  • Knowledgeable in Canva & willing to learn and follow best practices when posting to Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn.
  • Willingness to stay up to date on social media trends that will increase engagement and are appropriate for the college to participate in.
  • Experience with professional photography preferred.
  • Great penmanship preferred.
  • Photography, videography, or editing experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Student will preferably be engaged socially within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences in order to stay informed about current student events and create content.
  • Experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience editing content for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a representative of the college.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Coordinator to complete administrative tasks.
  • Occasionally join and lead academic information session presentations for prospective students.
  • Create content and post on social media.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Coordinator to create social media content that highlights student experiences, academic programs, and campus events.
  • Attend admissions and campus events to capture photos and videos for social media.
  • Assist with editing content for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms.
  • Brainstorm and contribute creative ideas for recruitment and engagement campaigns.
  • Support admissions events and help welcome prospective students and families (Preview Days and Be Belmont Day).
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing materials, filing, data entry, and other office projects as needed.
  • Learn about the admissions process, recruitment strategies, and the academic programs within CLASS.
  • Learn and occasionally lead college academic information sessions if class schedule allows.
  • Support Coordinator in various administrative tasks such as writing and mailing postcards to prospective students, printing and mailing letters, assembling admit gift packages, etc.
  • Assist in preparation for large visit days including Preview Days, Future Bruin Fridays & Be Belmont Day.
