About The Position

Admissions Ambassador (FWS Only) Department: Admissions Location: Wellesley Hills/Framingham MassBay fosters educational excellence and academic success to prepare students for local and global citizenship, to promote their personal growth, to meet critical workforce demands of communities, and to contribute to the region’s economic development. Massachusetts Bay Community College is served by a cadre of employees of varied backgrounds and experiences. We invite all individuals to consider joining our community. Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts. Position Summary: The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. This is a part-time, student employment position with no benefits. Reporting to the Admissions Office Coordinator the candidate will provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced office environment and perform clerical duties as assigned. Assisting with Admissions outreach and events that connect high school’s students, adult learners and career changers to MassBay’s career and technical education programs. Weekends and evenings as needed.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Sensitivity to the confidentiality of student records with respect to FERPA law

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and current, former, and prospective students who visit the Admissions Office; help determine their needs and refer to the appropriate person/department
  • Use Slate (CRM) to better assist visitors
  • Host campus tours for prospective students
  • Represent MassBay as a student representative and speak about your experience with the college at internal and external events
  • Use Microsoft Teams group chat to collaborate with Admissions staff members in order to assist in-office visitors with their inquiries
  • Check the Admissions voicemail twice daily at the beginning and end of work shifts, and outreach to applicants by phone regarding their application status and next steps toward enrollment
  • Assist with scanning or filing student records
  • Provide Admissions Office with support during large scale events, such as fall and spring Open House
  • Assemble Admissions’ hard copy communications and information packets
