About The Position

The Office of Admission at the University of Southern California is seeking seasonal readers for the upcoming first-year and transfer admission cycles, serving both domestic and international applicants. This is a fully virtual position, operating from October through March, with a potential extension through May for those assisting with the transfer admission process. Readers are expected to dedicate 10-15 hours per week to application review. Each Monday, readers will be assigned 50-75 files, which are due by Sunday evening.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident residing in the United States.
Must not be currently employed full-time by a college or university admission office.
Must not have children applying to USC as first-year or transfer students in the current admission cycle.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values through ideas, words, and actions.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in college admission.
Experience working with students enrolled at high schools abroad (for international applicant review).

Responsibilities

Review first-year and transfer admission applications for domestic and international applicants.
Complete assigned application reviews within the weekly deadline.
Participate in training sessions and Q&A zoom sessions.
Utilize a dedicated Slack channel for questions during the reading season.
