About The Position

Ahwatukee Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and experienced Weekend Charge nurse to oversee the operations of a nursing unit. This individual will provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The charge nurse will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, improve clinical outcomes, and support staff development in a fast-paced post-acute care environment.

Requirements

  • LPN or RN with a current, valid license in the state of Arizona.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership or management role, preferably in a post-acute care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nursing practices, patient care, and healthcare regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make quick, effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR certification required.

  • Additional certifications may be preferred (e.g., wound care, infection control).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage nursing staff on the assigned unit, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork among staff to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Oversee nursing personnel, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of staff.
  • Ensure staffing levels meet patient care requirements.
  • Monitor and assess patient care, ensure proper documentation, and implement individualized care plans.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits to monitor clinical outcomes and address any areas of concern.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Address any concerns or issues raised by patients or their families in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Complete required reports on staff performance, patient care, and other administrative tasks as needed.
