About The Position

The ADMISSION LEAD COORDINATOR (onsite, full-time) leads the Intake/Admissions function to ensure timely, compliant psychiatric admissions and sustained referral conversion. Key responsibilities include reviewing intake packets; conducting community assessments; collecting and reporting QAPI intake data; maintaining Intake staff schedules and providing shift coverage when needed; setting performance goals, coaching, and accountability for intake staff; partnering with the administrator to recruit, train, and onboard intake team members; maintaining relationships with ERs statewide and community referral sources to support an average paying daily census of 23 in a 24-bed facility; and communicating admission needs with physicians and the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to work with minimal supervision; organized and self-disciplined
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years psychiatric patient admissions experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicating admission needs with physicians and the Director of Nursing
  • Triaging new referrals, confirming what’s missing, and prioritizing follow-ups
  • Balancing time between the facility and the community, keeping documentation current and ensuring intake metrics are captured cleanly for QAPI
  • Aligning staffing coverage, removing workflow barriers, and checking progress toward individual targets
  • Providing clear updates, answering clinical/administrative questions, and keeping internal stakeholders informed on likely admits
  • Reviewing pipeline status and next-day priorities
